Description

A quick and nutritious Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats recipe that combines soft cinnamon-spiced apples with creamy oats soaked overnight for a delicious and effortless breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruits and Spices

  • â…“ cup apple (finely diced)
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon

Dry Ingredients

  • ½ cup oats (old-fashioned, rolled, gluten-free if needed)
  • 1 tsp. chia seeds

Liquids and Sweeteners

  • ½ cup milk (oat, soy, or nut-based milk)
  • 2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup (or honey)

Instructions

  1. Softening Apples: Add the diced apples and cinnamon to an 8-oz. glass Mason jar. Microwave for 60 seconds, or until the apples begin to soften and release their natural sweetness.
  2. Combining Ingredients: Add the oats, chia seeds, milk, and sweetener to the jar. Stir the mixture well until the oats are fully immersed and combined with the liquid and softened apples.
  3. Chilling: Refrigerate the jar for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight. This allows the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and flavors, resulting in a creamy, ready-to-eat breakfast.
  4. Serving: Serve chilled, optionally topped with additional diced apple and a sprinkle of cinnamon for extra flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use gluten-free oats if you need a gluten-free version.
  • Feel free to substitute maple syrup with honey or another sweetener of your choice.
  • Microwaving the apples softens them faster but you can also warm them on the stovetop if preferred.
  • This recipe is easily vegan if using plant-based milk and maple syrup.
  • Store overnight oats in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
